Tokyo Tech Visits USC

4 day visit as a part of Global Leadership Program supported by MHI

Professors Sadaoki Furui and Keisuke Yamada and seven students from the Tokyo Institute of Technology visited USC from February 19 – February 22 as a part of Tokyo Tech's Global Leadership Program hosted by the Ming Hsieh Institute. MHI supported the Tokyo group’s visit while faculty from Electrical Engineering, The Marshall School of Business and the Annenberg School of Communication collaborated with Professor Furui to plan a schedule with specific discussion themes and projects for the duration of their visit. USC faculty who participated with the visit included C.-C. Jay Kuo (EE/CS), Shri Narayanan (EE), Antonio Ortega (EE), Yan Liu (CS), Abe Kazemzadeh (Annenberg), Hiroshi Ochiumi (Business), Najmedin Meshkati (Viterbi) and Yann Duzer (Visiting Professor). During their visit, the Tokyo group attended USC lectures and participated in discussions for specific themes and projects. Some of these daily themes included Roles of mass media and science experts, Security in Asia and Crowd Funding, which included discussions and presentations by both the Tokyo group and USC faculty and students. The visit was a success and we look forward to future collaborations with The Tokyo Institute of Technology.
